'Lights will guide you home' - Based on an original free-motion sewn design by Bek Tainton
The print on this postcard captures the texture of the fabric and the stitch detail of the original artwork in a vibrant and fun design.
Free motion sewing is literally like using a sewing machine to draw with, where the fabric is the paper and the thread is the ink. The only difference is that the fabric (paper) is moved under the thread (ink) rather than the other way around! I use a 50 year old Pfaff sewing machine, that belonged to my grandmother. There's no fancy tricks or modern technology, but I wouldn't change my machine for the world!
This design was originally sewn for a friend and colleague who was leaving to start a new life with her husband far away from home. They had been married on Plymouth Hoe, so I chose that as my inspiration for the design. The words just seemed appropriate and I bet you are already singing them to yourself! This card could be used for any occasion, but particularly good for anyone setting off on a journey or who is moving away. Or maybe they just love lighthouses and Coldplay (not necessarily in that order!) This design is also available as a greeting card and as a print (see separate listing)
Art postcards are great for decorating any space, a noticeboard or sending to someone special. I also offer a gift wrapping service with any of my prints (see separate listings) where I can write a message on a postcard of your choice to go with your wrapped print and send it to the special someone you have chosen to gift it to.

* All cards are posted in a hard backed recycled envelope to protect them in the post.
