'Friends with an Octopus' - Based on an original free-motion sewn design by Bek Tainton
The print on this postcard captures the texture of the fabric and the stitch detail of the original artwork in a vibrant and fun design.
This little fella was originally designed as a cushion front, then became a sewn picture and is now a card and a print! The original cushion design had the words sewn around his tentacles! This card always makes people smile when they pick it up and read it! Suitable for any occasion, but particularly good for letting someone know you are there for them or sending to your bestie just because! Please note that this particular design has printed slightly darker than it appears in the photos- it's a tricky one to photograph accurately. This deign is also available as a print.
Art postcards are great for decorating any space, a noticeboard or sending to someone special. I also offer a gift wrapping service with any of my prints (see separate listings) where I can write a message on a postcard of your choice to go with your wrapped print and send it to the special someone you have chosen to gift it to.
Free motion sewing is literally like using a sewing machine to draw with, where the fabric is the paper and the thread is the ink. The only difference is that the fabric (paper) is moved under the thread (ink) rather than the other way around! I use a 50 year old Pfaff sewing machine, that belonged to my grandmother. There's no fancy tricks or modern technology, but I wouldn't change my machine for the world!

* All cards are posted in a hard backed recycled envelope to protect them in the post.
